The University of Osnabrück is pursuing two goals with its renewal proposal to the "Open Access Publication Funding" programme: On the one hand, it would like to secure sustainable funding for OA publications by university members in order to increase the visibility of the scientific achievements of researchers and the university and thus help the OA strategy gain further acceptance in the sense of the OA policy adopted in 2017. On the other hand, the OA infrastructure established at the University of Osnabrück in the previous project phases is to be further developed with the aim of achieving the greatest possible transparency of cost structures. This includes the development of workflows for automated and standardised recording of the number and costs of all publications and adjustments to the budget model under the conditions of the transformation to OA and to PABA accounting models within the framework of a "transparent information budget".
