Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin has been providing financial support for its authors publishing in Open Access since 2018 and is generally interested in investing in sustainable infrastructure for open science. As part of the "Open Access Publication Funding" program, funds are being applied for to cover additional costs incurred by Charité as a publication-strong institution in the transformation to an article-based billing and financing system. Structures and processes for monitoring publication and cost data are to be further developed and technically optimized. The aim is to achieve the greatest possible transparency of costs and funding streams as well as standardization of publication data for easy further processing in various internal and external contexts. Comprehensive support for scientists in open access publishing and uncomplicated funding are to be ensured.
