Within the context of the “Open Access Publication Costs” project, central structures for the processing and management of Open Access publications and other publication costs have to be implemented in the DKFZ. One goal is to systematically record, process and present the data in order to create transparency in this field and in this way to support the transformation process in scientific publications. Among other things, this is absolutely necessary for the intended publication-based billing model. Furthermore, workflows must be developed that offer user-oriented support to researchers in this dynamic and very complex area.
