By joining the DEAL contracts from 2019 and by establishing an open access publication fund with DFG support in 2021, the Brandenburg Medical School Theodor Fontane (MHB) took a stance in the current transformational process of scientific publication. MHB sees this process as a chance to establish a modern publication culture in an emerging university, making the university library the central contact point for all publication matters rather than just a supplier of literature. With this proposal, we ask for support to continue the publication fund over the next years, as this fund has been quickly adopted by MHB researchers since its establishment earlier this year.
