Quantum control of chiral observables (C05)
Subject Area
Optics, Quantum Optics and Physics of Atoms, Molecules and Plasmas
Term
since 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 328961117
Chiral molecules have a nuclear scaffold with well-defined handedness. Observables sensitive to this handedness are called chiral. The goal of this project is the quantification and coherent control of such chiral observables in order to understand how chiral-sensitive light-matter interaction can be exploited for chiral purification of mixtures and for obtaining maximal information from experimental measurements. Ab initio-based quantum dynamics methods, symmetry considerations, concepts from quantum information science and quantum control theory shall be employed to this end.
