We study interactions of photons with chiral molecules on the basis of macroscopic quantum electrodynam-ics. This allows us to predict to what extent the resulting forces as well as energy dissipation and transfer phenomena depend of the handedness of a molecule. Such discriminatory effects shall be used to distin-guish and separate enantiomers. They can be enhanced or even induced by magnetodielectric environ-ments.
