Project A07 has three objectives with relation to capturing and explaining the development of long-term care policies: (1) capturing the development of the coverage and generosity of long-term care systems since their establishment – one focus is on the extent to which dementia is considered and social participation rights are granted, (2) explaining the respective development dynamics with regression analysis methods, and (3) identifying the mechanisms by which horizontal and vertical interdependencies have influenced the system design and the subsequent expansion dynamics with the help of four country case studies (South Korea, Taiwan, Uruguay, Chile).
