Iron-Containing Intermetallic Compounds and Complex Oxides: Properties of Bulk and Oxidized Surfaces (A04)
Subject Area
Solid State and Surface Chemistry, Material Synthesis
Physical Chemistry of Solids and Surfaces, Material Characterisation
Physical Chemistry of Solids and Surfaces, Material Characterisation
Term
since 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 443703006
The project focuses on the synthesis of selected compounds to investigate iron-specific, traceable properties in intermetallic and oxidized phases. In particular, the investigation of reactivity concerning structural defects with a bearing on catalytic processes are at the center of these research efforts. In-depth characterization methods include in situ XRD, LT-Mössbauer spectroscopy, thermal analysis, magnetization and specific heat measurements, and are central to the proposed work packages.
