Final Report Abstract

The introduction of an NHC phosphinidenide moiety into the coordination sphere of iron and cobalt atoms is not a trial task. However, during the investigations within the scope of this project, several (NHC)phosphinidene iron and cobalt complexes could be stablished. For instance, the reaction of (IDipp)PH with the bis amides [M(N(SiMe3)2)2]2 (M = Fe, Co) gave access to complexes of the general type [(IDipp)PH]M[N(SiMe3)2]2. Unfortunately, attempts to promote the intramolecular elimination of HN(SiMe3)2 were not fruitful. Other important complexes established with the (IDipp)PH ligand are [{(IDipp)PH}FeCp(CO)2]I and [(IDipp)FeCl{(IDipp)PH}][BArF4].
