The aim of this transfer project is to enable condition-based regeneration of calender rolls. Based on the knowledge gained in subproject A1, the non-destructive testing methods used will be further developed to be able to carry out a differentiated assessment of the layer system of a calender roll. Together with the industrial partner, a model will be developed based on the non-destructively determined actual condition of the calender roll, from which the necessary regeneration measures and times can be derived on the basis of the condition.
