The aim of this transfer project is to increase the service life of the Outer Air Seal Coating (OAS) of the high-pressure turbine segments. The OAS consists of a nickel-based bond coat, which is applied by the expensive Low Vacuum Plasma Spraying (LVPS) process, and a ceramic top layer. Based on the findings from subproject B1 in the CRC 871, a new bond coat and thus a new repair process will be developed. The LVPS process is replaced by the cheaper high-velocity flame spraying process.
