The research project B02 analyses the use and the role of virtual objects in research and dissemination of knowledge concerning medieval history. It critically appraises the use of virtual objects in the scientific discourse and asks for its relations with practices that envisage the dissemination to a larger public (exhibitions etc.) as well as with didactic practices. The project seeks to provide an appraisal and critical reflection of existing practices, to analyse the influence on methodological debates in medieval studies and to scrutinize the effects on the perception of historical contents in new media (VR, AR).
