Virtual Bodies: Towards an Epistemology of Embodiment (C02)

The research project C02 starts at the conjuncture of virtualized body references, which find their aggregation in the concept of the embodiment. Its efficiency for new forms of knowledge around the sensation of the body will be reconstructed on the basis of different examples, all of which rely on the abandonment of a systematic distinction between the virtual and the real body. In three subprojects, the medial practices of interlocking human bodies with robotic systems, embodiment scenarios that allow taking the perspective of other life forms as well as embodiment scenarios in the nursing sciences will be examined.
