Project A02 aims at exploring, demonstrate, and evaluate the potential of optoelectronic signal pro-cessing for generation and read-out of mm-wave signals in high-field electron paramagnetic reso-nance (EPR) spectroscopy. The focus of the project will be on miniaturized optoelectronic signal converters that can be directly integrated into the EPR sample-handling unit, enabling simple ultra-broadband signal transport by highly flexible low-loss optical fibers rather than hollow metal wave-guides. These approaches can offer disruptive advantages in terms of miniaturization and portabil-ity, frequency agility in spectroscopy, and throughput.
