The University of Erfurt is pursuing two goals with its application to the funding program "Open Access Publication Funding": On the one hand, the University aims to make OA publications even more attractive for University members in order to increase the visibility of the scientific achievements of researchers as well as the University and thus help the Open Access idea gain further acceptance in the sense of the Open Access Policy adopted in 2017. On the other hand, the process of creating an adequate structure whose foundations have already been laid is to be continued with the aim of significantly improving the transparency of funding streams for scientific information and automatically determining the number and costs of publications according to uniform standards. The focus here is on the development and introduction of an information budget and the central provision and management of all income and expenditure for scientific information.
