The Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) e. V. publishes mainly peer-rev. articles in international journals (about 250 per Year, almost the half of it with corresponding authorship). The increasing portion of open access, from 60% (2019) to 78% (2021), generates growing APC-costs for our authors. To increase open access also by contracts, ZALF started a central publications funds in 2014 and signed early the DEAL contracts with Wiley ad Springer Nature. A financial relief of the increasing costs, combined with trackable payment of open access cost from a central information budget manage the shift to full open access financing. For the transition period 2023-2025 we apply for support from the program "Open-Access-Publikationskosten". After finalizing the structure adaptation, count and costs of publications will be automatically and standardized released, which helps to control the open access strategy.
