Project Details
Regulation and Role of Physical Properties for Transcriptional Condensates (R12)
Subject Area
Experimental and Theoretical Physics of Polymers
Term
since 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 464588647
Several important transcriptional regulators reside in membraneless condensates that ensure stable transcription of cell identity genes. The underlying physical and biological forces and dependencies regulating these transcriptional condensates in vivo are hardly understood. In this project, we aim to develop a comprehensive understanding of transcriptional condensates and the interdependencies of their constituents by combining systematic imaging of their components in cells after perturbations with physics-based multi-scale modelling.
