The aim of this research project running over one year ist he preparation of a DFG-research group to the topic of international comparing planning(-culture-) research. It is focused on the following research questions:1. Which theoretical approaches have relevance for which aspects of the international comparing planning(-culture-) research? How can existing approaches be developed and operationalized to improve the connectivity on theoretical approaches? How can institutional and planning cultural aspects of the planning(-culture-) research can be further integrated?2. Which methods have been applied in international comparing planning research with which experiences? Which approaches were not applied in spite of their potentials (e. g. discourse analysis, Qualitative Comparative Analysis, Law Comparisons)? How can they be applied for which puroposes?3. In which topics and theories of planning research the international comparing perspective could have which additional value for theory-production and practice? On these questions will be worked in threee workshops of the network with up to 15 reserachers and international guests from comparative planning research and other disciplines. The most important outputs are the application for the reserach group and a common pubication from the network members.
