The goal of my project is to make spectral correspondence methods more robust against distortions that happen frequenty during 3D acquisition. The workpackages include analysing spectral properties and the corresponding functional maps when surface merging appears when self-touching during scanning, calculating spectral properties on raw time-of-flight data to avoid depth reconstruction inaccuracies that appear when converting into depth maps, and learning to deal with unknown noise sources in a series of scans from the same setting.
