Total Synthesis of Brasilicardin A

The goal is the total synthesis of the natural product Brasilicardin A, which has immunosuppressive activity. Due to the scarcity of available material, it is even more important to synthesize this natural product and structural analogues in large quantities via a shorter route. After successful synthesis, this natural product and ist structural analogues will be investigated for further studies on ist biological activity and for studies on ist mode of action.
