The console that should be purchased is thought to replace an console, which controls and operates a700 MHz nmr spectrometer mainly used for structure determination of biopolymers. It should be able to generate frequencies ((1H, 13C, 15N und 31P) for the corresponding pulse programs as well as manage the installed cryo-system and the available probes. A shim control unit, pre-amplifier and amplifier for the high frequency channels as well as for the lock channel should be included. An amplifying unit for pulsed field gradients and a temperature control unit should also be integrated in the console. In addition, a controlling workstation, a library for distinct pulse programs for biopolymer nmr as well as a software for managing the console operation as well as for recording and processing of spectra must be included. A breakdown of the existing and technically aged console is imminent. It was delivered in 2006 with the (at this time) newly installed 700 MHz nmr and is more and more becoming susceptible for failure. Owing to the agedness of technology, the company issued an Out-of-Service Call in 2018.
