Project Details
Conditions in dense clumps as cluster forming reservoir in different environments (B01)
Subject Area
Astrophysics and Astronomy
Term
since 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 500700252
Star formation is a hierarchical multiscale process. We will study with observations and simulations the conditions of molecular gas properties on scales of a fraction of a parsec to several parsecs, thereby bridging the gap between high angular resolution interferometer studies of individual fragments and the larger cloud scales. In particular, we will analyse the physical properties, such as temperatures and volume densities, and chemical composition in the clump environment of the massive protoclusters.
