Project Details
The dust-obscured cosmic star formation history beyond the Herschel confusion limit (C02)
Subject Area
Astrophysics and Astronomy
Term
since 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 500700252
By deploying unprecedentedly large, multi-color (sub-)millimeter cameras on the most powerful single-dish survey telescopes such as APEX and FYST/CCAT-prime, Project C2 will measure the dust-obscured fraction of star formation in the full galaxy population at high redshift across a large fraction of the volume of the observable universe. C2 thus provides the necessary context for the in-depth studies in C1 by studying large, comprehensive statistical samples of hundreds of thousands of galaxies and their environments, addressing potential effects of sample and cosmic variance.
