Project Details
Cryogenic superconducting magnet for optical spectroscopy
Subject Area
Condensed Matter Physics
Term
from 2023 to 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 526138873
We aim to establish a cryogenic superconducting magnet system with optical access. By combining this magnet with our optical spectrometers, we will be able to study dynamical properties of quantum materials at low temperatures and in high magnetic fields. In particular, we will investigate terahertz dynamics in Dirac materials, superconductors and quantum magnetic materials. Since the selected materials are sensitive to temperature and magnetic fields, we can study various characteristic dynamical responses in different emperature- or field-induced phases of these materials. Therefore, the installation of this magnet system will substantially enrich our experimental capability.
