Final Report Abstract
Our previous work provided mechanistic insights on inflammatory and survival responses of phagocytes towards atherogenic lipoproteins, particularly oxLDL and PLA-LDL. Additionally, we investigated mechanisms of macrophage polarization and identified PPARy as a key regulatory signaling molecule. Currently we explore macrophage polarization and determine the role of Nrf2 during the macrophage phenotype shift in response to oxLDL.
