We propose to investigate the interplay of higher algebraic structures associated to stratified spaces within the framework of topological quantum field theory with a view towards bridging the gap between universal tools and explicit computational methods. We will advance our understanding of stratified TFTs and the higher algebraic structures they govern in concrete examples relevant for applications, developing state sum techniques, relative field theories, and TFTs with non-constant coefficients. An overarching goal will be to develop and adapt factorization homology, making it computable by combinatorial methods.
