JUICE Network: Junior Investigators in Chromatin & Epigenetics

Subject Area General Genetics and Functional Genome Biology
Term since 2023
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 531902894

The proposed network consists of 12 early career stage group leaders working in the field of chromatin and epigenetics (6 members in Germany, 6 in other European countries). The ir laboratories explore questions related to how chromatin regulates gene transcription and DNA replication, how changes in chromatin control organismal development and evolution, and how epigenetic alterations can cause pathological conditions. The network members aim to collaborate to share ideas and research, apply for joint grants, work on joint publications, organize workshops and discuss common career challenges. It will provide opportunities for the participating researchers in the early stages of their independent careers to establish themselves as independent leaders in the field of chromatin and epigenetics. The suggested network will last for three years from 2023-2026, with 1 yearly in-person workshop and additional online meetings. Funding is requested for costs related to on-site conference sites and travel of guest speakers. As a commitment to the network, the members will fund their own travel expenses and accommodations.
