At the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences (HSD), the strategy paper “Hochschulentwicklungsplan” publicly named an internal expected cultural change among researchers in the direction of an Open Science/Open Access culture as a strategic goal. As a trendsetting step, the Berlin Declaration was therefore signed on 20.09.2022. The HSD is an active member of the Open Access movement and supports the transformation of free access to scientific information. The goals of the project "Expansion of Publication Services at the HSD to Promote Open Access" are: Establishment of an Open Access policy, support for the publication of Open Access journals, establishment of a central publication fund, operation of Open Access instances, raising awareness and advising academics on the Open Access idea and recording the costs for the development of an information budget for the HSD.
