Plasticity of lipid metabolism in Arabidopsis thaliana exposed to different temperatures (A09)
Subject Area
Plant Biochemistry and Biophysics
Term
since 2024
Project identifier

A9 (Correa) studies the plasticity of lipid metabolism to temperature. Plants can adjust their lipid composition in response to internal and external cues thanks to the plasticity exhibited by the lipid metabolic network. Consistent geographical patterns in the seed lipid composition suggest a high adaptive value to this plasticity. This project will elucidate the determinants of plasticity of lipid metabolism to different temperatures in A. thaliana using a combination of quantitative genetics and an improved genome-scale model of Arabidopsis metabolism.
