The aim of the transfer project, which originates from the CRC 1194, is to develop a prototype for a commercial measuring device to determine the frictional force of liquid droplets on solid surfaces. Such measurements allow the quick and precise characterization of the dynamic wetting properties of a wide variety of liquids on a wide variety of surfaces. The method can also be used to localize smallest defects on surfaces and thus be used for quality assurance in many industrial processes.
