Wir möchten klären, unter welchen Bedingungen temporäre Merkmalsbindungen in Objektfiles zu länger wirksamen Bindungen im Gedächtnis führen und welche funktionellen Charakteristika und elektrophysiologischen Korrelate diese Bindungsprozesse haben. Als abhängige Variable werden Verarbeitungsleistungen und EEG-Daten in merkmalsspezifische Urteils- und Erinnerungsaufgaben erhoben. In den Verhaltensdaten und den evozierten Potentialen der Enkodier- und Abrufphase sollen Effekte erfolgreichen Erinnerns als Funktion der Merkmalsbindung in der Wahrnehmung analysiert werden. Zusätzlich soll nach bindungsspezifischen Oszillationen in verschiedenen Frequenzbänder des EEG und deren topologischen Verteilung gesucht werden.The goal of this project is recovering of those conditions which determine that object files which temporarily bind featuresin perception are transformed into durable memory traces. We want to find out which functional characteristics the bindingprocesses must have to cause memory, and what are their electrophysiological correlates. Dependent variables areaccuracy and reaction times for judgments of features during perception and remembering, and the corresponding EEG correlates.We search for subsequent memory effects during encoding and perception in dependence of the task at remembering(recognition of object versus feature information, direct versus indirect memory effects of changed sensory features).In addition we analyze the topological distribution of the electrophysiological effects and we search for specific oscillations in the EEG(e.g., synchronization in the alpha, gamma and theta band).
