The main aim of our project is to understand the interplay of structure and dynamics in adaptive complex networks, involving large number of interacting constituents, using concepts and techniques of statistical mechanics. We want to apply them to financial markets, immunology, ecosystems and fitness landscapes, biological ageing, and have already published papers on each of these applications. In general, as statistical physicists, we are interested in finding out how the architecture of the network and the local dynamics of the constituent elements give rise to the emergent properties. We are interested in understanding various generic features of complex adaptive networks, which are of both fundamental and technological importance, using the theoretical approaches of statistical mechanics.
