Project Details
Probing exciton structure and dynamics in two-dimensional magnets and spintronic heterostructures (B11)
Subject Area

Term
since 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 328545488
We investigate the interplay of exciton dynamical properties and magnetic order in two-dimensional (2D) magnets and TMDC-based spintronic heterostructures using coherent two-dimensional electronic spectroscopy. In WP1, we focus on magnon-exciton interactions, and the influence of excitons on ultrafast demagnetization in bare 2D magnets. In WP2, we explore TMDC-based spintronic heterostructures and determine how the presence of the magnetic material influences the excitonic properties in the TMDC. Our long-term vision is to help assess the potential of 2D magnets and TMDC-based heterostructures to bridge optoelectronics and spintronics in applications.
