Project Details
Describing the metabolome of sex variability (M05)
Subject Area
Endocrinology, Diabetology, Metabolism
Biochemistry
Biochemistry
Term
since 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 515637292
This project will employ a metabolome analysis of the systems under investigation described in the other projects above and extracts, namely mouse serum and urine, cell supernatants, and human serum and urine. We will then apply metabolomics to discriminate between different entities and to define organisational and regulatory profiles. Identifying sex-related metabolic pathways by comparing samples from individuals with DSD with typical male and female persons and combining this with the metabolic analysis of mouse models of sex development will allow us to decipher metabolic changes affected by chromosomal sex and hormone status.
