The goal of A05 is a simulation environment of the L-DED process that combines different scale levels to holistically describe a HyPo-component during and after the manufacturing process. A micro level thermo-fluid structure simulation specifies the effective heat input and the shape of the applied layer. A feature level model calculates the thermo-induced residual stresses. On component level, large HyPo-components are efficiently described by spatially and temporally variable properties, e.g. shape, residual stresses, temperature and porosity.
