Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse

This project explored how proteins can be organized and controlled in time and in space using chemically defined light-responsive ultasmall elements. By combining synthetic multivalent chelator heads with self-assembling surfaces, we developed molecular nanotools that bind His-tagged proteins with high affinity and specificity. These chemical/biological hybrid systems enable reversible protein immobilization, nanoscale patterning, and photoactivatable interactions under native conditions. Using multivalent interactions and photoactivatable switches, we construted hybrid protein-material interfaces for applications in super-resolution imaging, protein arrays, and the functional control of macromolecular complexes like the proteaseom. This hybrid systems offer precies control over protein function and localzation in two and three dimensions.
