Magnetism, structure and interactions on the atomic scale: supported metal clusters on metal surfaces

Using ab-initio methods we study theoretically the magnetic and the structural properties of surface-supported metal clusters. In particular, the interaction and the correlation of these clusters as well as their thermodynamical properties are considered by means of quantum statistical techniques.
