Project Details
Development of a GIS-based risk-assessment and decision methodoloy for sustainable land- and resource use decisions
Applicant
Professor Dr. Andreas Hoppe
Subject Area
Palaeontology
Term
from 2003 to 2007
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 5405786
... The project aims to describe and regionalise - among others - georesources like sand, gravel and valuable soils, erosion phenomena and subsidence hazard zones caused by the mobilisation of Tertiary gypsum affecting water quality and subsoil stability. Moreover, the research foci will be put on the interaction of erosional and subrosional processes with changes in land-use and the development of a GIS-based interactively usable land use assessment system which will facilitate geoscientific risk assessment for different land use forms and - since all important georesources will be regionalized - will support a sustainable resource use. The modelling tools used will be statistical and geostatistical techniques but also sophisticated assessment and decision procedures like Multi-Criteria-Analysis which allows the simultaneous implementation of economical, ecological and geoscientific aspects in the assessment process.
