Project Details
Nanostructured lonic Materials: Impact on Properties and Performance
Subject Area
Synthesis and Properties of Functional Materials
Term
from 2004 to 2010
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 5412774
The common project will be carried out as a collaboration between the Institut für Werkstoffe der Elektrotechnik, IWE, Universität Karlsruhe(TH), the Laboratorium für Elektronenmikroskopie LEM, Universität Karlsruhe(TH), the Max Planck Institut für Festkörperforschung (not as an applicant) and Prof. H. Tuller group at MIT, Boston, Cambridge, MA, USA. The aim of the common project is to clarify the impact of the boundary chemistry on the transport properties of nano-structured ionic and mixed ionic electronic conductors (MIEC), as well as to examine the electrochemical performance capabilities of graded ionic/MIEC nanoscale structures with relation to low temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cell application.
