Frequency-dependent conductivity of charge ordering phases in two-dimensional organic metals: search for the anisotropic dispersion and collective excitations

Subject Area Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term from 2008 to 2010
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 54227208

The aim of this research program is to advance the understanding of charge-ordered electronic phases stabilized in two-dimensional organic conductors. In particular, we will look for the collective excitations of these charge-ordered states: the dc electricfield nonlinear effects, the low-frequency loss peak and the pinned charge-mode resonance. Experimentally, we will perform studies of frequency, electric field and temperature dependent conductivity in the dc-MHz range and in the optical wave range (submillimeter, millimeter and infrared spectral range) for electric fields along the main crystallographic directions. These experiments will be extended by investigations of galvanornagnetic properties of the charge ordering phase transition.
