Project Details
Expansion of the model project "Völkerrechtsblog" into an open science hub
Subject Area
Public Law
Term
since 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 542584033
The project aims to consolidate the Völkerrechtsblog as a model project in the field of digital open access publishing and to develop it into an "open science hub" that acts as a hub for open access transformation and open science innovation in German legal studies. Within the framework of this overarching objective, the project contributes to all three focal points of the "Infrastructures for scholarly publishing" funding line. In the priority area Structure Building for Open Access Transformation, the project consolidates a sustainable and reusable consortium funding model for Diamond Open Access that permanently finances human and material resources with the help of university and library consortia, and builds network structures that radiate throughout the legal sciences. In the focus area Open Access Infrastructures, the project is developing the International Law Blog into a global, quality-assured discourse platform, a curation hub, where research results are discussed and communicated via multimedia formats even before publication in established journals and publishers. In the focus area of digital publishing, the project is testing novel quality assurance procedures for digital publications (especially open peer review) in collaboration with established journals and is developing reusable strategies for accessible formats of scholarly communication.
