Investigation of the dispersion relations of plasmon excitations in cuprates and their relation to high-temperature superconductivity

Utilizing a combination of resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) experiments and layered t-J-V model calculations, we will investigate the properties of plasmon excitations in cuprates, with a focus (a) on their unusual damping at high momenta, and (b) anomalies in their behavior above and below the superconducting transition temperature Tc.
