The project aims towards understanding the fundamental symmetries of nature from scattering amplitudes and their underlying description on Riemann surfaces with marked points. In this project algebraic geometry and conformal field theory are used to derive new symmetry relations for gauge and gravity amplitudes and likewise computing amplitudes by purely algebraic and geometric methods. We shall further elaborate on the interrelation between quantum field theory, string scattering amplitudes and intersection theory, aiming towards a geometric description of scattering amplitudes.
