Without using the term home in the modern sense, medieval literature also describes phenomena of a mainly sensual-emotional connection to ‚place and people‘. The subproject uses digital tools to identify such phenomena in German-language secular and sacred literature from the 9th to the 15th century. Based on typologies and interpretations of significant texts and passages found in the medieval archive, we identify patterns of modeling home, genre- and gender-specific differences and diachronic developments in literary constructions of home.
