The subproject examines formulations of belonging to a particular space, the construction of identity associated with this, and the role of such constructions in political disputes over land and resources in the context of climate policies. It builds on political ecology work on conflicts over land and resources in the context of climate policies as well as human geography work on space and politics and aims at enriching the scientific discussion on space, belonging and politics in conflicts over climate policies through a context-sensitive empirical case study.
