The main objective of the project proposal is to successfully enter the postdoctoral research phase by laying the foundations for a habilitation project as a starting point for an academic career. In order to achieve this goal, the project proposal divides this main goal into five measurable and achievable sub-goals, the scope of which is based on my previous work performance over a two-year period: 1. The successful transfer from the University of Bonn to a completely new academic environment at the Ruhr University Bochum with Prof. Dr. Florian Bock and the integration into research, teaching and networks of the chair; 2. completing the design of a new research topic with a detailed chapter-by-chapter structure of the habilitation thesis and exploring and analyzing its archival source material; 4. writing the first of three parts of the habilitation; and 5. publishing three essays that extend my research profile across the breadth of the field of medieval and contemporary church history.
