Consideration of forming-induced damage in component design (Project A09*)

The overall objective of project A09 is the investigation of the influence of forming-induced damage on the scatter of the performance of component. The demonstrator used is an airbag pressure bin manufactured by project A02. In a first step, a simulation model which takes the forming-induced damage into account is calibrated and validated based on burst tests. In the second step, a numerical parameter study is performed using the validated model to quantify the damage-based scatter of the performance of the airbag pressure bin.
