Building on previous experimental research, B10N aims to investigate the relevance of gender as a potential prominence-lending feature. It explores how both grammatical and social/referential gender interact with other, well-researched prominence hierarchies. It aims to develop a theoretical model that combines corpus-linguistic analyses, experimental studies, and linguistic theory to describe how gender influences language users’ choices of morphosyntactic structures in various languages, modalities, and registers.
