Reflections on Authorship in Contemporary Drama (revised proposal)

The project is based on the applicant's observation that towards the end of the 20th century and especially at the beginning of the 21st century, authorship reflections and drama-immanent references to empirical authors in drama have experienced an upswing. The project will therefore analyze authorship reflections in contemporary drama since 2000, taking into account their prehistory. This happens in three steps: 1. dramatic authorship reflections as part of literary self-reflexivity and procedures of authorial staging, 2. history of dramatic authorship reflections, 3. authorship reflections in drama since 2000 - specifically in 3.1: german drama, and 3.2: exemplary in other literatures. The project thus sees itself as decidedly literary-scientific, and it is also clearly characterized by a comparative dimension.
