A03 predicts and explores emergent optical excitations in mol2Dmat heterostructures with particular emphasis on the formation and dynamics of interlayer mol2Dmat excitons. The project develops theoretical methods to predict experimental signatures in far- and near-field optical spectroscopy and microscopy, as well as excited-state energy transfer. A second focus is on long-range spatial correlations in hybridized light-matter states of molecular monolayers and 2D plasmons.
